BuyerPingBot
BuyerPingBot is the reader behind BuyerPing. It reads public pages to find companies that are looking for new software.
How to recognise it
Its user agent is:

What it reads
- Public community forums, status pages and pricing pages of software companies.
- Public news feeds.
- Public APIs that allow it, such as Hacker News.
- One page of a customer's own website, when that customer asks.
How it behaves
- Before it reads a website, it checks that site's robots.txt and follows it. The one exception is a customer's own homepage, read once at their request.
- If a site blocks bots or shows a CAPTCHA, it stays out. It never tries to get past one.
- It never signs in and never reads pages behind a login.
- It sends one request at a time to any site.
- It never sends email to the people it reads about.
Stop it reading your site
Add these two lines to your robots.txt. It checks robots.txt at least once a day.
